Atomization of Alloy Constraints

چکیده

Constraints in Alloy, a declarative modeling language, can be translated into Boolean logic and solved with a SAT solver. Atomization is a technique for improving the performance of Alloy analyses; it exploits typing relationships in an Alloy model and produces a semantically equivalent model that can be translated into Boolean form using fewer variables, hence creating a formula that can be solved more quickly. We give detailed experimental data on the performance of atomization on a number of Alloy models; in a majority of the cases, we found a sizable improvement in performance with atomization. We analyze atomization’s effect on SAT solving time and other components of execution time, and also examine the effects of heuristics that have been developed to improve atomization’s performance.

MODELING OF RAPID SOLIDIFICATION PROCESS IN THE GAS ATOMIZATION OF MOLTEN METALS

In the present work, a model was proposed to predict the thermal history during rapid solidification (RS) of metal droplets in the gas atomization process. The classical theory of heterogeneous nucleation was based on Newtonian heat flow and enthalpy method. Solving the governing numerical equations by the finite difference method (FDM) gave up the opportunity of analyzing the temperature-time ...

Flow mechanisms in high pressure gas atomization

Very fine (d < 10/~m) metal and alloy powders can be produced efficiently by a high pressure gas atomization (HPGA) technique. Rapid solidification processing, metal injection molding, thermal spraying and other emerging powder-processing approaches benefit from the use of such fine powders. This paper reports on the results of an investigation of gas atomization process dynamics with emphasis ...

Argon-shielded hot pressing of titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) powders.

The paper presents the method of the argon - shielded hot pressing of titanium alloy (Ti6A14V) powder (used in medical industry). The powders produced in the GA (gas atomization) process and in the HDH (hydride - dehydride) process were used in the experiments. A pressing process was conducted at a temperature of 800-850 degrees C for different lengths of time. An unoxidized sintered material, ...

Effect of Chromium Behavior on Mechanical and Electrical Properties of P/M Copper-Chromium Alloy Dispersed with VGCF

Microstructural and electrical properties of Cu-chromium alloy (Cu-Cr) dispersed with vapor-grown carbon fiber (VGCF) prepared by powder metallurgy (P/M) process have been investigated. Cu-0.7 mass% Cr pre-alloyed powder (Cu-Cr) made by water atomization process was used as raw materials, which contained solid solute Cr elements in Cu matrix. The alloy powder coated with un-bundled VGCF by usin...

Effects of Rare Earth Elements on Properties of Ni-Base Superalloy Powders and Coatings

NiCrMoY alloy powders were prepared using inert gas atomization by incorporation of rare earth elements, such as Mo, Nb, and Y into Ni60A powders, the coatings were sprayed by oxy-acetylene flame spray and then remelted with high-frequency induction. The morphologies, hollow particle ratio, particle-size distribution, apparent density, flowability, and the oxygen content of the NiCrMoY alloy po...
